Studying the Internal Audit Practitioner course will introduce you to the fundamentals of the International Standards and the International Professional Practices Framework.
A Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is an internationally recognized accreditation that serves as the foundation for a career within the internal audit profession. Studying the CIA will equip you with the knowledge of internal audit theory and the fundamental frameworks. This is inclusive of the International Standards, as well as the knowledge needed to perform and plan for internal audit engagement. An introduction to the concepts of internal control, governance, technology and risk will also occur.

Specialist certifications assist in developing your skillset within a particular area of internal auditing. Specialist certifications include:

According to a 2017 Internal Audit Compensation study conducted by the IIA, CIAs earn an average annual salary of $38 000 more than those without certification. The responses to the survey were US-based.
